Milenio, a mexican newspaper, published an interview of Antón García-Abril, speaking about Cervantes Theatre at Mexico DF. They called the project, "El Cervantes, un teatro subterráneo" that means: "The Cervantes, the underground theatre".

Antón García-Abril is going to give a talk today February 9th, 8.00 p.m. at the National Art Gallery (NDG), Konstitucijos av. 22, Vilnius. He has been invited by a non-profit organization ARCHITECTURE FUND. The ARCHITECTURE FUND together with volunteer architects organizes these lectures and discussion sessions on different architectural and cultural topics. This lecture will be part of a sixth sessions named “ARCHITECTURE AS PROCESS”.

Lecture in Oslo

Antón García-Abril is going to give a talk today January 31st, 6 pm at the Norwegian fairground “Norges Varemesse” in Oslo. He has been invited by 0047, an independent organization for projects in and in between the fields of art and architecture, based in Oslo. The lecture will be part of a yearly-series of presentations initiated by 0047 for a Norwegian 400-people audience that includes architects, architecture students, artists and interior designers.

"En-caja"

"En-Caja" is a collective exhibition that studies a cube of 20 x 20 x 20 cm, without two of its faces, and divided in two parts. Antón García-Abril has participated in this project among a group of painters, sculptors, architects, designers and photographers who have intervened in order to make a creative work around this cube. Venice Biennale in Japan

Antón García-Abril is going to attend a conference on Venice Biennale at Italian Embassy in Tokyo on September 29th from 17:00 to 19:00, giving a talk and discussing at a later roundtable. The event is going to be chaired by Kazuyo Sejima, director of the 12th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice, and will bring together about 300 architects from Italy, Japan and from all over the world.

The place of delights

BAC students in Hemeroscopium

Some students from the Boston Architectural College have visited Spain this summer. During their trip, they had the chance to visit the Hemeroscopium House: “This project gets to the very essence of what architecture means: a gravity-defying composition of abstract elements, suspended impossibly overhead, deftly framing space with a fine eye for proportion, detail and experience of the inhabitant”.
