VI Biennale of Spanish Architecture

Manuel de las Casas has chaired the VI Biennale of Spanish Architecture, where a new reward has appeared to highlight emergent architects, and old awards where given to the most influential architects in Spain. Campo Baeza in Granada

Alberto Campo Baeza has finished the building for the new ‘Caja General de Ahorros’ Headquarters in Granada. It is his most representative work, as a result of a winning contest in 1992. He has dedicated 10 years to give birth to this great box of light, as Antón García-Abril explains in ‘El Cultural’ magazine that you can get with ‘El Mundo’ newspaper in the week of 20-26 June 2001.

Alonso and Acebo in Palma

Three spaces for art

Igancio García Pedrosa and Ángela García de Paredes have been working together for a long time, and have developed great auditoriums in Spain since their beginning. Meetings on the city

Melnikov the builder

This article from 'El Cultural' (7-13 March 2001) arises because of the current exhibition at Arquería de Nuevos Ministerios in Madrid about the great architect and builder Melnikov. The exhibition, commissioned by Ginés Garrdio brings to Spain for the first time Melnikov's work in the shape of models, photographs, drawings and texts of the architect that have been translated.

Marine cemetery

César Portelar has just finished building a small cemetery on a hill at Cape Finisterre (La Coruña), which overlooks the sea. Nature has been the only set limits to the project, getting together by this way, architecture and landscape. A sculpted theater
