"En-caja"

"En-Caja" is a collective exhibition that studies a cube of 20 x 20 x 20 cm, without two of its faces, and divided in two parts. Antón García-Abril has participated in this project among a group of painters, sculptors, architects, designers and photographers who have intervened in order to make a creative work around this cube. This exhibition also celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Gallery.

Venice Biennale in Japan

Antón García-Abril is going to attend a conference on Venice Biennale at Italian Embassy in Tokyo on September 29th from 17:00 to 19:00, giving a talk and discussing at a later roundtable. The event is going to be chaired by Kazuyo Sejima, director of the 12th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice, and will bring together about 300 architects from Italy, Japan and from all over the world.

The place of delights

The immediate association to a truffle is a small piece of soft, fine chocolate, custom-made to be perfectly eaten in just one bite. Moreover, it gives the impression of being done with the care of the culinary tradition, and not coming from a monstrous industrial machine. This is how the Latin-American magazine focused on contemporary culture, ‘Exclama’, sees this project by Ensamble Studio.

BAC students in Hemeroscopium

Some students from the Boston Architectural College have visited Spain this summer. During their trip, they had the chance to visit the Hemeroscopium House: “This project gets to the very essence of what architecture means: a gravity-defying composition of abstract elements, suspended impossibly overhead, deftly framing space with a fine eye for proportion, detail and experience of the inhabitant”. This evening, Antón García-Abril will give a talk at Stuttgart School “Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart”, at 19:00. This Academy of Visual Arts and Design has been offering good reputation and high resonance lectures for years, and this one they are celebrating its 250th birthday. Beginning of term at MIT
