Sea Homes. 2010
This research project consists of a modular system of floating houses with individual piers. It is a sustainable alternative for touristic housing that pretends to avoid occupying massively the coasts while profiting of a privileged position in the sea. It is a new housing model linked to the practice of nautical sports and leisure that established a direct contact with nature without damaging it. The technology used integrates efficiency and comfort. The different modules are built with precast water- resistant concrete at the closest factory, assembled on a dry dock and transported to their position in the sea. They form communities of a hundred units that are connected together allowing boats inside. The environmental impact is mínimum as these communities can be disassembles and transported elsewhere, and so they can occupy the most virgin landscapes in a responsible way.
