Z Tower. Taiwan. 2011

Z Tower is a tower 333 m. high with variable dimension in plan. It is an open structure with a powerful image and presence, that relates to its context using it as indissoluble parts of its content. The two main components of the building are the structure and the infrastructure. The structure, takes as

reference traditional wooden construction], and recreates its language using precast concrete technology; it is a frame structure that organizes a very rich program in multiple levels creating different space experiences. The dragon, is a mobility system (light train) that constitutes the main spatial experience of the building; it offers an amazing helicoidal tour throughout the tower as the best option to learn about the city and its evolution. The tower thus becomes a museum that has the tower as frame and the city as background; it is not a fixed building but a living monument that will be able to respond to future needs.
